Some points discussed during this Khutbah:
- The goal of the Shayṭān regarding the children of Ādam.
- Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on the verse, “Shayṭān has overtaken them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allāh. They are the party of Shayṭān. Verily, it is the party of Shayṭān that will be the losers!” [Sūrah al-Mujādilah 58:19]
- Allāh’s command to take the Shayṭān as an enemy.
- Shayṭān’s promise to misguide all of mankind.
- The story of Shayṭān, and the reason for this hatred he has for Ādam and his progeny [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7:11-18].
- The dangerous outcome of arrogance.
- The humiliation of disobedience to Allāh and turning away from the Sunnah.
- Blaming others for our actions when we fall short is from the traits of Shayṭān.
- The meaning of the verse, “Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).” [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7: 17]
- The reality that Shayṭān will desert mankind on the Day of Resurrection.
- Those whom Shayṭān has no power over.
- The party of Allāh vs the party of Shayṭān.
