Some points discussed during this lesson:

  • The meticulous preservation of the aḥādīth of the Messenger ﷺ.
  • Always being fearful and not feeling safe from the plotting of Allāh.
  • The heart’s instinctive motion to turn to Allāh when in a calamity and there is no way out.
  • The Sunnah of Allāh in putting the People of Īmān to trial.
  • The trials of calamities and favours and how we should respond to them.
  • Alqamah (رحمه الله) on the verse, “No calamity befalls, but with the Leave of Allāh, and whosoever believes in Allāh, He guides his heart, and Allāh is the All-Knower of everything.” [Sūrah at-Taghābun 64:11]
  • The reason for trials.
  • The three components of shukr.
  • Understanding that Allāh gives respite, but He is not neglectful.
  • The strength and resilience of the believer vs the cowardice of the kāfir.
  • The three types of Tawassul.
  • The effect/power of striving to achieve sincerity.
  • The nature of the righteous actions of the three men in light of the verse, “Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land…” [Sūrah Āl ‘Imrān 3:14]
  • The greatest right after singling out Allāh in worship.
  • The meaning of al-Amānah.
  • A warning against the ideologies being pushed upon our children.
  • The tremendous importance of the father and him looking over his children, specifically his daughters.
  • The incremental introduction of evil and filth in society. 
  • The way of the believer when he is touched with an impulse/incitation from Shayṭān. 
  • Gathering provisions by way of which we can make tawassul to Allāh.
