All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.

[05/04/2024] Last Days of Ramaḍān and the Fiqh of ‘Eid – By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wahid حفظه الله. Khutbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

  • Capitalising upon the last days/nights of Ramaḍān. 
  • Aḥadīth related to the exact night of Laylatul Qadr mentioned by Al-‘Allāmah Al-Albāni رحمه الله  in Saḥih al-Jāmi.
  • “All the sons of Ādam fall into error and sin, and the best of those who sin and err are those who repent.” [At-Tirmidhī]
  • The encouragement of the Prophet ﷺ for us to seek out Laylatul Qadr.
  • This blessed night is better than a thousand months!
  • Why are these last ten nights specified?
  • “Whoever stands (in prayer during) Ramaḍān out of faith and in hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [An-Nasā’ī]
  • “Whosoever prays with the Imām until he finishes, it will be counted for him as if he spent the entire night in prayer.” [An-Nasā’ī]
  • An eternity of bliss due to the mercy of Allāh. 
  • Some words related to the virtues and fiqh of Zakāt al-Fiṭr.
  • The manners of the Prophet ﷺ related to the day of ‘Eid. 
  • Walking to the ‘Eid prayer, eating before leaving home, ghusl before attending the ‘Eid prayer. 
  • Men wearing the best of clothing to the Eid prayer.   
  • Advice to the youth regarding attending the ‘Eid prayer. 
  • Advice to the women. 
  • The sunnah of the Takbīrāt on the day of ‘Eid.
