All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[16/09/2022] {And Your Lord Would Never Destroy The Towns Wrongfully, While Their People Were Doers Of Good…} – By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur-Raqīb حفظه الله. Khutbah at Masjid As-Salafi, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khutbah:
- Benefits derived from the verse, “If only there had been among the generations before you, persons having wisdom, prohibiting (others) from al-Fasād in the earth, except a few of those whom We saved from among them. Those who did wrong pursued the enjoyment of good things of (this worldly) life, and were Mujrimūn. And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers.” [Sūrah Hūd 11:116-117]
- Those whom Allāh will destroy.
- Characteristics of the Strangers.
- A beautiful exchange between Abī Umāmah رحمه الله and Abū Tha’labah al-Khushanī رضي الله عنه regarding the understanding of the verse, “O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong no hurt can come to you from those who are in error.” [Sūrah al-Mā’idah 5:105]
- The actions that earn the reward of fifty of the Companions.
- The grave consequences of not enjoining good and warning against evil when a person has the ability to do so.
