All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[19/04/2024] And Worship Your Lord Until There Comes Unto You The Certainty (i.e. Death) – By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
- The hearts are saddened by the end of Ramaḍān!
- Allah’s Lordship is not restricted to Ramaḍān
- Continuing following the legislation of the Prophet ﷺ after his death
- Worship your Lord up until the certainty of death
- Continuing the striving of Ramaḍān after Ramaḍān
- “Every day the believer remembers his Lord and stays away from disobedience is a day of ‘Eīd (for them!)”
- The best of the Believers are those who are best in character
- The wise are those who remember death often!
- Fasting from that which is harām and remaining obedient
- Fasting six days of the month of Shawwāl
- Fasting Mondays and Thursdays and the three “white days” each month
- The fasting of the Prophet Dawood (عليه السلام)
- Methods in remaining firm after Ramaḍān
- Standing in the night prayer and the blessings of the last third of the night
- Asking Allah for steadfastness and making du’ā for that
