All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[19/09/2025] Why is the Ummah in Such a Weak & Humiliated State? – Sh Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– The reason for the state of weakness and humiliation of the ummah according to Allāh (عز وجل) and His Messenger ﷺ.
– The Messenger’s ﷺ address to the Muhājirīn regarding five calamitous affairs and their consequences.
– The consequences of:
- Widespread lewdness
- Cheating in the weights and measures
- Withholding Zakāh
- Forsaking the covenant with Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ
- Leaders not judging with the Book of Allāh.
– The outcome of making the dunyā our main concern.
– The solution for the humiliation the ummah is facing.
– “If Allāh helps you, none can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, who is there after Him that can help you? And in Allāh (Alone) let believers put their trust.” [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3:160]
– “O you who believe, if you aid (the cause of) Allāh, He will aid you (against your enemy) and make your foothold firm (upon faith and upon the straight path and against your enemy).” [Sūrah Muḥammad 47:7]
– “…Verily, Allāh will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allāh is All-Strong, All-Mighty.” [Sūrah al-Ḥajj 22:40]
– The condition to be aided by Allāh.
– A call to check ourselves and reflect on how our actions may be contributing to the state of the ummah today.
– “O you who believe! Seek help in patience and aṣ-Ṣalāh (the prayer). Truly! Allāh is with aṣ-Ṣābirīn (the patient ones, etc.).” [Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:153]
