All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[21/02/2025] Welcoming the Blessed Month of Ramaḍān – By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
- The passing of time and the signs therein.
- إِنَّ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَـَٔایَـٰتࣲ لِّأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ﴿ ١٩٠ ﴾
- The deeds that are repeated daily, weekly, yearly.
- “They are an expiation…”
- The blessed month of Ramaḍān.
- Preparation for the coming of Ramaḍān.
- Some of the rewards attainable within Ramaḍān.
- Laylatul Qadr.
- Salātul Tarāwiḥ.
- The two moments of reward for the fasting person.
- The sound heart.
- The different types of people within Ramaḍān.
- Those things that should be given the most importance within Ramaḍān.
- Those who beg from the people.
- The trials of the marketplaces.
{Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding} [Āli-ʿImrān, Ayah 190]
