The Messenger’s ﷺ Concern for the Welfare of His Ummah Until His Last Moments – By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.

[02/05/2025] The Messenger’s ﷺ Concern for the Welfare of His Ummah Until His Last Moments – By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– “Indeed Allāh conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muḥammad ﷺ) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses, and purifying them, and instructing them (in) the Book and al-Ḥikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ], while before that they had been in manifest error.” [Sūrah Āl ‘Imrān 3:164]

– “Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muḥammad ﷺ) from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He is anxious over you, for the believers full of pity, kind, and merciful.” [Sūrah at-Tawbah 9:128]

– The greatest thing the Messenger ﷺ had concern for.

– Examples of measures the Messenger ﷺ took to prevent even coming close to shirk. 

– His ﷺ warning against excessively praising him.

– Warning against making our homes like graveyards and making the grave of the Messenger ﷺ a place of worship and celebration. 

– The prohibition of adorning the graves and constructing shrines. 

– The Messenger’s ﷺ concern for his ummah up until the last moments of his life.

– The prohibition of praying when the sun is rising or setting, and the reason for its prohibition.

– The prohibition of sacrificing where the mushrikīn also sacrifice. 

– The prohibition of language that indicates something is equal to Allāh. 

– Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on the command, “And do not come near to zinā” [Sūrah al-Isrā 17:32]

– How to attain purification and salvation.
