[11/07/2025] The Importance of Knowledge – By Abu Zayd Khālid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– Benefits from a khutbah by Shaykh Muhammad b. Sālih al-‘Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) on the importance of seeking knowledge.
– The meaning of basīrah, and how it is achieved.
– Consistency upon seeking knowledge of the Book of Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى) and Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ.
– A hadīth that is sufficient for us to recognise the virtue of seeking knowledge.
– Examples of the importance of knowledge in every aspect of our lives and how it separates those who know from those who do not know.
– Guiding the Muslims through the darknesses of jahl and fitan by way of knowledge and understanding of the dīn.
– The highest level of honour a person can achieve.
– The example of Shaykh Rabī’ b. Hādī al-Madkhalī (رحمه الله) who sought knowledge from a young age, acted upon it, taught it, clarified the truth and never feared the blame of the blamers.
