[28/11/2025] The Hijāb – Defining True Beauty and Honour! – Sh Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– The sad reality that there are Muslims today who wage war against the hijāb.
– “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.)…” [Sūrah an-Nūr 24:31]
– “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed.” [Sūrah al-Ahzāb 33:59]
– Refutation of those who say this command was only for the wives and daughters of the Prophet ﷺ.
– Our dire need for the hijāb in these times.
– A hadīth the women should take heed not to fall into.
– How shaytān beautifies the woman when she leaves the home.
– Some words to give strength to the sisters facing challenges due to wearing the hijāb.
– Statements from Imāms Ibn al-Qayyim, Ibn Bāz and al-‘Uthaymīn (رحمهم الله) regarding the nobility of the hijāb.
– Real beauty.
– The exemplary shyness of Umm al-Mu’minīn ‘Ā’ishah (رضى الله عنها).
– A reminder when we encounter difficulty in carrying out the commands of Allāh:
– “And whoso obeys Allāh and the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allāh has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqūn, the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!” [Sūrah an-Nisā’ 4:69]
