All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[21/03/2025] Strive in the Last Ten Nights of Ramaḍān – By Abu ‘Abdir-Raḥmān Hilāl حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– {O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do} [Surah Al-Hashr (59): 18].
– Ramaḍān and its blessed nights are a blessing upon us.
– Shaykh Uthaimeen رحمه الله explained why the last ten nights are more virtuous than other nights.
– Narrations from Aisha رضي الله عنها regarding how the Prophet ﷺ was during the last ten nights, and description of his striving and encouraging his family to worship in these blessed nights.
– The virtues of Laylatul Qadr and Ibn Kathir’s Tasfīr of Surah Al-Qadr.
– The du’ã that should be recited on Laylatul Qadr.
– The importance of asking for al-‘Āfiyyah (well-being and safety) in these nights.
– {No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do} [Surah Al-Sajdah (32):18].
– Encouragement of giving charity on these nights.
– The tremendous opportunity to seek the blessed night by striving diligently.
– Narrations explaining when Laylatul Qadr can occur within the last ten nights of Ramaḍān.
– A warning against laziness and missed opportunities during these nights.
