Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.

[20/09/2024] Reconciliation & Brotherhood for the Sake of Allāh – By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Allāh has distinguished this religion over other religions: {Verily, this Qur’an guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad, etc.) who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great reward (Paradise)} [Surah Al-Isra:9]

– Allah has commanded the believers to be brothers one to another.

– The merits of Islamic brotherhood: {They ask you (O Muhammad) about the spoils of war. Say: “The spoils are for Allah and the Messenger.” So fear Allah and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), if you are believers}.

– Explanation of rectifying differences between believers.

– When disputes occur, we should hasten to rectify between ourselves.

– {There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allah’s Cause), or Ma’ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind, and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allah, We shall give him a great reward} [Surah Al-Nisa: 114].

– The purpose of reconciliation is to bring rectification of the hearts.

– When there is a separation of the hearts the Messenger ﷺ would encourage with rectification.

– {And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength depart and be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)} [Surah Al-Anfal:46].

– Consequences of disputes between the believers upon the Ummah.

– Unity of the hearts is from Allāh alone.

– Allah unites the hearts upon the correct belief.
