[12/07/2024] The Life of Musa and His Victory Over the Pharoah on the Day of ‘Āshoorā – Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
- The importance of the month of Muharram to the Muslims.
- The reason we fast the day of ‘Āshūrā.
- The reward for fasting on this day, and differing from the Jews by fasting a day before or after it.
- The story of Mūsā (عليه السلام) being sent to Fir’awn from Sūrah an-Nāzi’āt.
- The first and later transgression for which Allāh seized Fir’awn.
- The reason why Fir’awn killed the sons of Banī Isrā’īl.
- The four women Allāh perfected.
- How Mūsā ended up being raised in the palace of Fir’awn.
- Āsiyah’s acceptance of Islām and how she was punished by her husband (the Fir’awn).
- The magicians’ acceptance of Islām after Mūsā defeated them.
- The afflictions sent down upon Fir’awn and his people.
- How Allāh saved Mūsā and Banī Isrā’īl and drowned Fir’awn and his army.
- Understanding that victory is given to the believers and not just to those who want it.
