[11/12/2024] Lesson 41: What is Salafiyyah, and is it Obligatory to Proceed and act Upon its Methodology and Hold Fast to it? – Beneficial Answers to Questions Regarding The Innovated Methodologies – Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله.
Some points covered by Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله during this lesson:
– Question 65: If a person commits an act of innovation due to ignorance and the truth not reaching him, is he rewarded for that action since his intention was to perform an act of worship or is it the case that the act is not accepted?
– The ruling on such a person.
– The excuse of ignorance, and the ruling when the truth is clarified to a person.
– Question 66: What do you say regarding those who claim that warning against Ahlul-Bid’ah and naming them is the ghībah (backbiting) that is ḥarām?

– Examples of scholars, from the early Salaf to today, naming innovators in their refutations.

– Gaining strength from reading the books of Sunnah of the imāms of the past.
– An example from Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) to show that every munkar, great or small, is corrected and not to be left.
– Becoming strangers in our own homes, and striving to be consistent upon obedience to Allāh.
– Question 67: What is the ruling concerning the one who loves a scholar or caller to Allāh and he says, “Indeed I love him with an immense love and I do not want to hear anyone refuting him or speaking about him. I will take from his speech even if he opposes the evidence because he is more knowledgeable than us regarding the evidences”?
– A stern warning against ta’aṣṣub and taqlīd.
– Refutation of those who blindly follow Imām Abū Hanīfah (رحمه الله) but are not upon his manhaj in reality.
– Imām as-Shāfi’ī (رحمه الله) on the impermissibility of leaving the Sunnah for the saying of anyone from the people.
– Refuting the error of a person from Ahlus-Sunnah with evidence, and clarification that this does not entail hatred or belittlement.
– Examples of scholars of the Sunnah refuting one another while maintaining mutual love and respect.
– Refuting Ahlus-Sunnah vs refuting Ahlul-Bid’ah.
– The only person’s whose speech is taken in its entirety.
Question: Can someone be called a mubtadi’ for not making tabdī’ upon a known innovator?
