[08/12/2023] Lesson 3: The Right of The Prophet ﷺ – The Second Right: To Obey Him ﷺ and Follow His Sunnah – By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Weekly lesson at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

- The fifth matter: The obligation to believe the Prophet ﷺ conveyed the message completely.
- A verse from the Qur’ān that affirms what was mentioned in the Tawrāh regarding the completion of the religion of Islām.
- Clear proof from the Sunnah that the message is complete and the Messenger ﷺ conveyed everything and fulfilled the trust.
- ‘Ā’ishah (رضى الله عنها) on the one who says the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ concealed anything from what Allāh revealed to him.

- The Second Right: To Obey Him ﷺ and Follow His Sunnah
- The command to emulate the Prophet ﷺ in his speech, actions and silent approvals.
- Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr (رحمه الله) on the verse, “Indeed in the Messenger of Allāh (Muḥammad ﷺ) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allāh and the Last Day and remembers Allāh much.” [Sūrah al-Aḥzāb 33:21]
- The necessity of acting upon what has been authentically reported from the Prophet ﷺ.
- Submitting to the verse, “But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.” [Sūrah an-Nisā 4:65]
- The complete guidance of the Messenger ﷺ.
- The first matter: Evidences for the obligation of obeying him ﷺ from the Qur’ān.
- A mention of some of the āyāt regarding obedience to the Messenger ﷺ.
- Wherein lies all good and all evil.
- The second matter: Evidences for the obligation of obeying him ﷺ from the Sunnah.
- Aḥādīth regarding obedience to the Messenger ﷺ.
- The reason it is obligatory for us to follow his Sunnah ﷺ.
- Some techniques of learning utilised by the Messenger ﷺ.
- Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar (رحمه الله) on the one who refuses to enter Paradise.
- Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥibbān al-Bustī (رحمه الله) on the meaning of being obedient to
the Messenger ﷺ.
