All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[20/09/2025] “O You who Believe! If you aid (in the cause of) Allāh, He will aid you, and Make Your Foothold Firm.” [Sūrah Muḥammad:7] – By Abu ‘Abdir-Raḥmān Hilāl حفظه الله. Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this lesson:
– An encouraging ḥadīth that highlights the tremendous reward for clinging to the masājid and frequenting the gatherings of knowledge.
– “O you who believe, if you aid (the cause of) Allāh, He will aid you (against your enemy) and make your foothold firm (upon faith and upon the straight path and against your enemy).” [Sūrah Muḥammad 47:7]
– The explanation of this verse by Shaykh Muḥammad Amīn ash-Shanqīṭī (رحمه الله).
– Attributes of those who deserve the aid of Allāh.
– “[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish the prayer and give zakāh and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allāh belongs the outcome of [all] matters.” [Sūrah al-Hajj 22:41]
– “…and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).” [Sūrah ar-Rūm 30:47]
– Those excluded from the promise of Allāh’s aid.
– The meaning of aiding the cause of Allāh.
– Shaykh Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله) on the means that lead to Allāh’s aid, and affairs that lead to the believers being abandoned.
– “O mankind! It is you who stand in need of Allāh, but Allāh is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise. If He wills, He could destroy you and bring about a new creation.” [Sūrah Fāṭir 35:15-16]
– “So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for the Muttaqūn (pious).” [Sūrah Hūd 11:49]
– “And if you are patient and fear Allāh, their plot will not harm you at all.” [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3:120]
– Assessing our actions and mindfulness of Allāh (عز وجل).
– The sunnah of Allāh with His believers until the Day of Judgement.
– A pertinent reminder from the Battle of Uḥud regarding the consequences of opposing the command of Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى) and His Messenger ﷺ, and how the shortcomings of some can lead to everyone being afflicted.
– “And fear the fitnah (affliction and trial) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allāh is Severe in punishment.” [Sūrah al-Anfāl 8:25]
– Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on the harms of sins.
– “Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allāh belong all honour, power and glory.” [Sūrah Fāṭir 35:10]
– The Permanent Committee on how honour will be returned to the ummah.
– “Those who take disbelievers for awliyā’ (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allāh belongs all honour, power and glory.” [Sūrah an-Nisā 4:139]
– “Allāh has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islām). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fāsiqūn (rebellious, disobedient to Allāh).” [Sūrah an-Nūr 24:55]
– ‘Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb (رضى الله عنه) on wherein lies honour and disgrace.
– Shaykh ‘Ubayd (رحمه الله) on the ruling of demonstrations and marches.
– The salaf of those who engage in these actions.
– “O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong no hurt can come to you from those who are in error.” [Sūrah al-Mā’idah 5:105]
– The reason Abū ad-Dardā (رضى الله عنه) wept when Cyprus was conquered by the Muslims.
– “…Verily! Allāh will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allāh).” [Sūrah ar-Ra’d 13:11]
– Beginning with ourselves instead of pointing fingers and blaming others.
– The consequences of loving this world and hating death.
– Statements from Imām Ibn Rajab (رحمه الله), ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنهما) and Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) regarding the two types of jihād.
– “So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.” [Sūrah al-Kahf 18:110]
– Shaykh Rabī’ (رحمه الله) on the youth in Muslim lands who march and call for jihād.
– The only way for humiliation and disgrace to be lifted from the ummah.
– Shaykh Muḥammad Amīn ash-Shanqīṭī (رحمه الله) on those who say we deserve the aid of Allāh.
– Taking the legislated means to aid our brothers and sisters in Palestine and elsewhere.
