All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[15/08/2025] Good Companionship – Shaykh Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– From the blessings of Allah is that He has created companions for us.
– The difference between a righteous and an evil companion upon our life and our final outcome.
– Hadīth showing the similitude of a good companion and the evil companion: The Perfume seller and the blacksmith.
– The benefits of having a righteous companion.
– From having good characteristics is to have righteous companions.
– Hadīth: The souls are like a recruited army.
– The Prophets and Messengers chose good companions for themselves.
– The virtues of Abu Bakr as Siddeeq – the beloved companion of the Prophet ﷺ.
– Allah says: “… when the two of them were in the cave, and the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Don’t be scared as Allah is with us.’” [Surah Tawbah (9): 40].
– A friend in need is a friend indeed – true friends are there for you in times of need.
– The signs of a good companion.
