All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.

[30/05/2025] Ten Days Of Dhul-Ḥijjah & ‘Eid Al-Aḍḥā – By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Rulings related to the first ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah. 

– The general and specific takbīrāt, and narrations describing the actions of the Ṣaḥābah in this regard. 

– The takbīr of ‘Abdullāh b. Mas’ūd (رضى الله عنه).

– The best day with Allāh. 

– The days of ‘Eid. 

– An important aspect of these ten days that many people leave out.

– Description of the sacrificial animal of the Messenger ﷺ, and who he would sacrifice on behalf of. 

– The Uḍḥiyyah is an emphasised Sunnah that should not be left for the one who has the ability. 

– Proof for the permissibility of seven people/families sharing in the sacrifice of one cow/camel. 

– The days on which the sacrifice can be performed. 

– Problems and oppositions to the Sunnah that arise from sending money abroad for the sacrifice. 

– Proof that slaughtering cannot be done before the ‘Eid prayer. 

– Proof that the animal should be healthy and free from obvious defects. 

– Proof that the one intending to slaughter should withhold from cutting his hair and clipping his nails.

– The ruling on doing so forgetfully, unintentionally or deliberately. 

– The animals that are acceptable to be sacrificed and their ages.

– Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) on singling out a sacrifice on behalf of the deceased.

– The permissibility of a woman slaughtering.

– The validity of the sacrifice of the one who deliberately cuts his hair or nails. 

– The permissibility of giving some of the meat of the sacrificed animal to non-Muslims.

– A person eating from his sacrificed animal. 

– Imām Ibn Qudāmah (رحمه الله) on what is upon the one who cuts his hair or nails deliberately or unintentionally.
