Some points discussed during this lesson:

– Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on the verse, “It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her.” [Sūrah al-Anfāl 7:189]
– The purpose of marriage.
– Striving to find suitable and compatible mates for ourselves and our wards.
– Ibn Kathīr (رحمه الله) on the verse, “Is then he who is a believer like him who is Fāsiq (disbeliever and disobedient to Allāh)? Not equal are they.” [Sūrah as-Sajdah 32:18]
– A tremendous narration instructing us to marry for our future offspring.
– Clarification from Shaykh al-Albānī (رحمه الله) that compatibility and suitability in marriage is solely based on religion and character.
– The kind of spouse we should be looking for.
– Examples from the past regarding those who married from the sinful and wicked and those who married from the righteous.
– How ‘Imrān b. Ḥiṭṭān went from being a man of Sunnah and narrator of ḥadīth to a Khārijī after marrying a Khārijī woman he intended to bring to the Sunnah.
– The evil dowry of the wife of ‘Abdur-Raḥmān b. Muljam (the murderer of ‘Alī (رضى الله عنه), who was once upon the Sunnah and praised by ‘Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb).
– The righteous example of Zaynab b. Jaḥsh (رضى الله عنها) who took pride in the manner in which she was married to the Prophet ﷺ.
– Ibn Kathīr (رحمه الله) on the meaning of “ٱلْخَبِيثَٰتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَٱلْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثَٰتِ وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَٱلطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَٰتِ”.
– Shaykh al-Albānī’s (رحمه الله) advice to a woman who discovered that her husband was an innovator after marrying him.
– Shaykh Rabī’ (حفظه الله) on the danger of the one who comes in the guise of Salafiyyah.
– Statements from the Salaf warning against marrying the people of innovation and sin.
– Looking to marry a person upon Tawḥīd and Sunnah.

Questions:
1. My daughter is 15 years old. She wears a ḥijāb but only sometimes wears the khimār or jilbāb at the moment. Speaking with her she says she will do it later. Could you advise me?
2. My sister is married to a Khārijī who constantly brings doubts when he comes over to my parents’ home. When he is advised he uses his intellect in tafsīr and ḥadīth. How do you deal with him; what do you advise?
3. What should I do if my sister recently married a layman?
4. How do you deal with anger in marriage?
