[03/07/2026] Blessings are a Test for the Servant – Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– {And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily, My Punishment is indeed severe.”} [Sūrah Ibrāhīm (14):7]
– The statement of Sulaymān عليه السلام.
– Recognising that blessings are also a test.
– When blessings are withheld.
– Are blessings an honour or a humiliation for the servant?
– The actions of the servants do not increase or decrease the dominion of Allāh in any way.
– The places where true gratitude is manifested.
– Signs of the servant’s success.
– Turning to Allāh in humility and showing generosity towards the creation.
– Seeking aid from Allāh in all affairs.
– The recompense for one’s deeds.
