[27/12/2024] “Among the Worst of People is One With Two Faces!” – By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Truthfulness – a foundation of the religion.
– {Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun} [Surah Az-Zukhruf: 67].
– Ibn Kathīr’s رحمه الله explanation of the above verse.
– True friendship should be based upon truthfulness.
– Statement of Ibn Abbās رضي الله عنهما: “All companionships will change to enmity except those that feared Allāh”.
– Powerful statement regarding friendship from Imam Shaf’ī رحمه الله.
– The majority of mankind’s errors are due to the tongue.
– The most evil of people is the two-faced one.
– Their state on the day of Judgement.
– The two-faced should not be put in positions of authority.
– Success lies in being truthful as the truthful people carried this religion.
– Ḥadīth explaining the severity of disparaging your friend for worldly gain.
– Allāh – The Most High – has protected the honour of the believer so do not dishonour each other.
– Beautiful words of poetry regarding fake friends.
– Admonishment from scholars regarding always being truthful, friendships and communities must be built upon truthfulness and we should stay away from betrayal.
