All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[09/05/2025] Advice from the Khulafā’ Ar-Rāshidūn – Khuṭbah by Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
The Qur’an and the Sunnah are built upon advice.
The farewell advice of the Prophet ﷺ to the Companions.
“I have left you upon that which is clear; its night is like its day…”
“Those who live long after me will see many differences, so hold onto my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs.”
Hold onto it with your molar teeth.
Hear and obey the rulers.
Advice of Abu Bakr as-Siddīq: “I have not abandoned anything from the actions of the Prophet ﷺ except that I acted upon it. Verily, I fear that if I leave any of his actions, I would deviate.”
Advice of ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb: “Take yourselves to account before you are called to account. Weigh your deeds and statements before they are weighed. Adorn yourselves with good deeds before the Great Day.”
Advice of ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān: “O son of Ādam, the Angel of Death who has been appointed to take your soul has passed by you, focusing on others. It may be that he will now bypass them and focus on you. So be aware and ready for him. Do not be heedless of the Angel of Death, for he is not heedless of you!”
Advice of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib: “O mankind! What I fear for you the most is that you will have long hopes and follow your desires…”
Be from the children of the Hereafter; do not be from the children of this world.
“Today is for action; tomorrow, there will be no actions.”
