Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– The great virtue of the sending of the Messenger Muḥammad ﷺ.
– The intent of the testification “Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allāh”.
– The coupling of obedience to the Messenger ﷺ with obedience to Allāh (سبحانه وتعالى).
– Allāh’s stern reprimand of those who oppose the Messenger ﷺ.
– Statements from ‘Umar b. ‘Abdul-‘Azīz and Imām Aḥmad (رحمهم الله) warning against opposing the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ.
– The means of success and salvation.
– Statements from Ḥudhayfah, Ibn Mas’ūd (رضى الله عنهما) and Imām Aḥmad (رحمه الله) regarding following to the Sunnah, clinging to what the Companions were upon and abandoning innovation.
