[25/10/2024] The Lofty Characteristics of Humility – By Abu ‘Inaayah Seif حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– An impeccable characteristic the Muslim servant should adorn himself with.
– Imām as-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on the āyah, “And the slaves of the Most Merciful (Allāh) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness.” [Sūrah al-Furqān 25:63]
– The command to have humility even in the way we walk.
– The one who is considered lowly with Allāh and insignificant with the people.
– Shining examples of humility from our noble Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ.
– A profound statement from Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) describing the essence and reality of humility.
– Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on the signs of happiness and success, and the signs of misery and sadness.
– A ḥadīth that highlights the detrimental outcome of arrogance.
