
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[06/06/2025] Remember Allāh During the Days of Tashrīq – By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– “It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allāh, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allāh for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muḥammad ﷺ) to the Muḥsinūn (doers of good).” [Sūrah al-Ḥajj 22:37]
– The celebration of Tawḥīd in these days of ‘Eid.
– The prohibition of fasting on ‘Eid and the days of Tashrīq.
– “And remember Allāh during the appointed Days.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:203]
– Ways in which we remember Allāh on the days of Tashrīq.
– The takbīr after every prayer, and its wording.
– The intent behind ‘Eid.
– Following the practice of Prophets Ibrāhīm and Muḥammad (عليهما الصلاة والسلام) in mentioning the Name of Allāh when performing the sacrifice.
– Remembering Allāh upon eating and drinking and not overindulging to the point one is diverted from the worship of Allāh.
– Prescribed manners when eating and drinking.
– Remembering our brothers and sisters in need who are being relentlessly attacked.
– Following the way of the Salaf in remembering and glorifying Allāh plentifully in these blessed days.
– Ḥasan al-Baṣrī (رحمه الله) on the meaning of the supplication, “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!” [Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:201]
– The reward for righteous deeds based upon sound knowledge.
– How eating and drinking can be acts of nearness to Allāh.
– Warning against being heedless and carrying out acts of disobedience in these days.
– “Therefore remember Me; I will remember you, and be grateful to Me and never be ungrateful to Me.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:152]
