All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[03/01/2025] Patience Upon The Pre-Decree That Causes Distress – By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– {No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything} [Surah At-Taghabun (64): 11]
– The believer knows that the calamity is from Allah and He guides his heart.
– The two types of people that have traits of kufr.
– Ahadīth showing how Allah trials a person and hastens the punishment in this world instead of punishment in the hereafter.
– Greatness of reward is in accordance to the greatness of trial.
– Having patience in Allah’s decree is a sign of a person having iman in Allah.
– Decrees are divided into two categories.
– {No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allāh} [Surah Al-Hadid (57):22]
– The statement of the believer during calamities: All praise is due to Allah in every condition.
– Ahādith showing when the decrees were written and the correct understanding of decrees.
– The believer is pleased with the decree of Allah, even if it is painful.
– The calamities that are due to our own disobedience – major sins and the continuous minor sins.
– How we can wipe out the major sins and minor sins.
– Types of Major sins.
– Not permissible to use pre-decree as an excuse for sinning – rather we are commanded to worship and obey Allah.
– Be patient upon the calamities that occur due to pre-decree.
– Repent to Allah due to calamities that occur due to your disobedience and sin.
– Being patient upon the loss of a child and the rewards that will be received.
