[Lesson 25] Advice To Those Who Have Turned Away From Reading The Books Of The Salaf & Listening To The Lessons Of The Scholars – Beneficial Answers to Questions Regarding The Innovated Methodologies – Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid

[02/02/2023] Lesson 25: Advice To Those Who Have Turned Away From Reading The Books Of The Salaf & Listening To The Lessons Of The Scholars – Beneficial Answers to Questions Regarding The Innovated Methodologies – Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله.

Some points covered during this lesson:

• Question 35: Advice to the youth who have turned away from reading the books of the Salaf aṣ-Ṣālīḥ and occupy themselves with the writings of the political thinkers and du’āt who are determined to oppose what is affirmed in the books of the Salaf. 

• The obligation of giving concern to learning the ‘Aqīdah, the sources from where the ‘Aqidah is taken and those from whom it is learnt. 

• The similitude of the books of imported ideologies that are foreign to Islām.

• The reason and condition for the one who is grounded to look into these books.

• The impermissibility of the new student of knowledge looking into these books.

• Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on what knowledge is and is not.

• Question 36: Advice to the youth who consider the durūs of the well-known, trusted scholars as being unimportant and of little benefit and instead give importance to current affairs and politics.

• The harms of busying oneself with the news media and current affairs.

• Āyāt that encourage with the seeking of beneficial knowledge.

• The tremendous du’ā contained in Sūrah al-Fātiḥah.

• Those upon whom Allāh has bestowed His Bounty, those upon whom is His Anger and those who are astray.

• The harms of being engrossed in devices and social media platforms, and how a person can protect himself from social media.
