All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.
[20/02/2026] Generosity in the Month of Ramaḍān – Sh Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.
Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:
– Seeking nearness to Allāh by way of giving in charity and being plentiful in generosity in this blessed month of Ramaḍān.
– “Believe in Allāh and His Messenger and spend out of that in which He has made you successors. For those who have believed among you and spent, there will be a great reward.” [Sūrah al-Hadīd 57:7]
– “So fear Allāh as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allāh]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul – it is those who will be the successful.” [Sūrah at-Taghābun 64:16]
– Small deeds that will benefit us in the hereafter and protect us from the punishment of Allāh.
– How Allāh cultivates charity given from lawful earnings.
– “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it. And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” [Sūrah az-Zalzalah 99:7-8]
– The meaning of ذرّة.
– A ḥadīth that highlights the outcome of a deed that emanates from fear of Allāh, mercy, love or sincerity, even if it is small.
– Focusing on recitation and implementation of the Qur’ān in Ramaḍān.
– The reason for the Messenger’s ﷺ increased generosity in the month of Ramaḍān.
– Fruits of reciting and reflecting upon the Qur’ān.
– The Messenger’s ﷺ detachment from the dunyā.
