All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all creation—and may He extol the Messenger in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace and security—likewise to his family, Companions, and true followers.

[09/08/2024] The Five Commandments Given to the Prophet Yahyā (Peace be Upon Him) – By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– The Caller must act upon that which he calls others to.
– {Do you command the people with righteousness and forget yourselves…}
– The five commandments given to Yahyā عليه السلام.
– 1. Worship Allāh alone, and do not associate partners with Him.
– 2. Allāh commanded you with the prayer and focus upon it.
– 3. The command of fasting.
– 4. The command of giving in charity.
– 5. The command of making remembrance of Allāh.
– The five commands from the Prophet ﷺ.
– Listening to and obeying the Muslim Ruler.
– Jihād in the path of Allāh.
– Hijrah, migration for the sake of Allāh.
– Remaining united.
– That which every Prophet and Messenger came with.
– From the wisdom of many Prophets and Messengers being sent at the same time.
– Parables and examples in the Qur’ān and Sunnah.
– Those who oppose the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
– A word regarding “Hijrah” and “Hajr”.
