Some points discussed during this lesson:
– The people of happiness.
– A warning against being deceived by the chief of deceivers.
– Following the example of the Messenger ﷺ in advising our children as he advised the young Companions.
– The truthfulness and justice of the scholars when they refute Ahl al-Bid’ah.
– Teaching our children truthfulness and to be afraid of Allāh first.
– Spending time with our families, befriending our children, and teaching them who to take as friends.
– The children who are the coolness of the eyes of their parents.
– The consequence of neglecting the ṣalāh.
– Teaching our children how to pray and the importance of guarding the prayer, the importance of knowledge and action, righteousness to the parents, how to protect themselves from evil eye and magic, respect for elders, the etiquette of being a host, generosity and serving the community.
– Being a good example for our children.
– The exemplary manners of Shaykh Muḥammad al-Bannā (رحمه الله) and Shaykh Rabī’ (حفظه الله) with their guests.
– Teaching children patience, not complacence.
– The danger of sins.
– Teaching children to guard their tongues, to be grateful for what they have and to have tawakkul.
– Weakening the shayṭān.
