Limits in Rectifying One’s Wife and Domestic Violence: Sisters Class by Abu Khadeejah

Islam and its teachings are often deliberately portrayed (by the adversaries of Islam) as being antagonistic towards women – and that violence towards women is an acceptable practice.

The truth, however, is that Islaam is intolerant towards domestic violence. Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam) commanded the men to treat women well and with goodness and not to brutalise them or to abuse them. When discord occurs in a marriage, there are steps that are taken to rectify the dispute. In this class, Abu Khadeejah conveys the Qur’anic and Prophetic narrations concerning this important subject.
